Not a new cycle lane?

I thought this was a new cycle lane outside the school in Killinarden, but I now suspect (due to it’s intermittent extent) that it’s to allow people get out of their cars here without having to walk on grass. It’s chock-a-block with cars during term time. I hope I’m wrong, but it only extends along the grass verge and stops at each end, and also fails to continue through the school entrance.

What a great way to encourage cycling or walking to school, eh?
